Barbara Ann Allmon

Barbara Ann Allmon, 69, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.  She was born on May 20, 1939, to the late Paul E. & Ruth V. Young Thornton.  She is survived by her husband, Thurman A. Allmon, whom she married in Logan County on April 13, 1992. 

Also surviving is a son, Mike (Christa) Myers of Lakeview, Ohio; 2 stepsons, Thurman F. (Debra) Allmon of Lakeview and John A. (Jean) Allmon of Rushsylvania, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mary (Bob) Newkirk of Bellefontaine; a brother, Richard Lee Thornton of Elmira, New York; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and her first husband, Jesse Charles Myers.  A son, Paul Thomas Myers and a stepson, Randy Allmon are deceased.

A homemaker, she worked as a dietician for Latham�s Nursing Home.  She was a member of the Bellefontaine Eagles, American Legion, V.F.W. and the Moose.  She loved to take road trips, enjoyed dancing, playing cards and spending time at the Belle Terra & Argosy Casinos.

Pastor Chuck Temple will conduct the funeral service at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County Cancer Society P.O. Box 463 Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
