Bernard J. Alberts
Bernard J. (Wojciechowski) Alberts beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 11, 2011 in his residence. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan October 3, 1927. He was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine Wojciechowski. On May 3, 1952, he married Marjorie Allison at the Ascension Catholic Church in Van Dyke, Michigan. She survives along with one son, Lawrence (Joyce) Alberts of Annapolis, Maryland; four daughters, Mary (Steven) Shawver of Strongsville, Ohio, Debra (Kenneth) Cameron of Bucyrus, Ohio, Nancy (Bernard) Rottkamp of Delaware, Ohio, and Carol (Michael) Cimino of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Tricia (Jerry) Sharp, Gayle (Kevin) Hughes, Stuart and Marie Cameron, Anthony and Allison Cimino, Bradley and Katelyn Rottkamp. He also had three step grandchildren, Bonnie Gardner of New York City, New York, Robert Garder and Laurie Gardner, both of Hackettstown, New Jersey; two great-grandchildren, Brynn and Naomi Hughes; four step great grandchildren, Colin and Connor Stalter, Jordon and Caylie Sharp. He is also survived by three sisters, Bernadette Kotecki of Centerline, Michigan, Hilary (Joseph) Wudyka of Warren, Michigan, Geraldine (Ronald) Hofbauer of Petoskey, Michigan and a sister in law Hedwig Wojciechowski of Boyne Falls, Michigan. He was preceded in death by a brother Sylvester Wojciechowski, two sisters Louise Wojciechowski and Lucille Dubas, and two brothers in law, Roman Dubas and Leonard Kotecki. He graduated from Boyne Falls High School in northern Michigan and served in the United States Army during World War II. He then attended the University of Detroit, where he earned a degree in Accounting & Economics in 1951. He was employed by Bulldog Electric Products Co. that same year and remained in the employment of their subsequent owners until his retirement in 1990. At the time of his retirement, he was the Operations Manager of Siemens Energy and Automation, Ohio Operations. He was a member of the Saint Patrick�s Catholic Church, a third degree member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Bellefontaine Council # 1782 and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly # 0822 in Springfield, Ohio. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of Americas in Roseville, Michigan, and a member of a number of Professional Organizations. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Friday, January 14, 2011, with a Rosary service beginning at 7:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Patrick�s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Patrick Sheridan officiating.
