Carolyn Marie Heminger

Carolyn Marie Heminger, 73, of West Liberty, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2009, in Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine, Ohio.  She was born in Logan County, Ohio on July 6, 1935, to the late Johnson C. and Helen (Coleman) Smith. On January 14, 1950, she married Robert Heminger in Newport, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2001. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, George and James Smith and a 1 sister, Kathleen Wren.

She is survived by a son, Steven L. (Judy) Heminger of Wet Jefferson, Ohio, and 2 daughters, Rebecca (Donald) Alig and Robin Marie Heminger both of West Liberty. Also surviving is a brother, John C. (Carolyn) Smith of Bellefontaine; 2 sisters, Mary (Frank) Alexander and Eileen (Alan) Kauffman, both of Bellefontaine; 5 grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Williams, Brooks (Kelly) Heminger, Drew (Jennifer) Heminger, Ashley (Matt) Myers, and Melissa (Lincoln) Weaver; and 11 great grandchildren.

Carolyn worked for Hobart Industries, CTS manufacturing and the Shell Station in West Liberty. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in West Liberty and a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, March 10, 2009, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty. Pastor Will Stackhouse will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the United Church of Christ in West Liberty. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association  15120 Collections Center Drive  Chicago, IL 60693.
