Carolyn Neer

Carolyn Neer, 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord following a short illness October 11, 2010 at the Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio. She was born in Logan County, Ohio November 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Chester and Gertrude (Rotroff) Cooper. 

On December 6, 1942 she married Joe E. Neer and he preceded her in death December 29, 1998. She also was preceded in death by brothers Richard and Ralph Cooper, and sisters, Juanita Detrick, Ruth Tanger, and Jane Stevenson. 

She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Willard) Scheifele of Cable, Ohio, Joan (Gary) Clayton of DeGraff, Ohio; four sons, Max (Debbie) Neer of DeGraff, Roger (Robin) Neer of Powell, Ohio, and twin sons, Terry and Larry Neer of Zionsville, Indiana; sisters, Shirley Yoder of Goshen, Indiana, and Margaret Jones of Marblehead, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 

A 1942 Bellefontaine High School graduate, Carolyn was a homemaker and a farmer�s wife. She was a member of the South Union Mennonite Church of sixty three years, and most recently attended Calvary Baptist Church. She volunteered at Global Crafts and Green Hills in West Liberty. 

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where the funeral service will begin at 11 A.M. Friday, October 15, 2010, with one hour of calling prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Campus Crusade for Christ.
