Charles C. (Chuck, Charlie) Fulkerson

Charles C. (Chuck, Charlie) Fulkerson, 82, of Rushsylvania, Ohio, went home to his Lord and Savior Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Heartland of Bellefontaine Rehab Center surrounded by his beloved wife and children. He was born and raised on the family farm in the Huntsville, Ohio area to the late Philip H. Fulkerson and Mary Jane Harrod Fulkerson on June 11, 1927.

He is survived by his wife Alberta Wallace Fulkerson, who he married on March 6, 1948 at the Belle Center Presbyterian parsonage. Also surviving are his four children, Rose Mary (Robert) Ford of West Mansfield, Ohio; Sheryl (Sonny) Goings of Huntsville; Chuck (Lana) Fulkerson of Rushsylvania; and Jeannie (Gary) Wren of Bellefontaine, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Fulkerson of Belle Center, Ohio; one sister-in-law Betty Fulkerson of Huntsville; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother John Fulkerson, one granddaughter, sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara Belle (Byron) Youtsey, and Mary (Willard) Roby, and sister-in-law Ruth Fulkerson.

A 1945 graduate of Huntsville High School, he was a lifetime farmer in the Rushsylvania area, where he was a member and elder of the First United Presbyterian Church. During his life his involvements included Farmer Friends Farm Bureau Council, Farm Bureau member and trustee, ASC Advisor Board, and the Hi-Point See-Saws square dance club.

The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours will be from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Burial will be held immediately following the funeral service at the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
