Charles F. Rutherford

Charles F. Rutherford, 82, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2008, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.  He was born on October 24, 1926 in Gallia County, Ohio, to the late Roscoe Cecil and Lucy M. Spencer Rutherford.

On April 13, 1989, he married Barbara May Blackson in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2008.  He is also preceded in death by seven siblings.  Surviving is a son, David (Laura) Rutherford of Bellefontaine;  daughter, Sherri Stone of Middletown, Ohio; Step-son, Walt (Rikki Palone, Fiance�) Ostermyer of Lakeview, Ohio; sister, Velma Davis of Urbana, Ohio; grandchildren, Cole Stone, William Goheen & Aaron Rutherford; step grandson, Joel Ostermyer; one great grandchild; Kylan Stone and four step-great grandchildren; and good friend, Kenny Duff of Bellefontaine.

He retired from Grimes/Midland Ross, but recently worked for Acrux Security as a guard at Glacier Daido.  He was an Army veteran, a member of American Legion Harold Kerr Post #173, and a member of the Eagles Lodge.

There will be a visitation from 12 to 2 P. M. on Monday, December 29, 2008, at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty, Ohio.  A graveside service follows at 2:30 pm in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, with Max Harr officiating. The Logan County Honor Guard will conduct military services at the cemetery.
