Cheryl Jane Bensman

Cheryl Jane Bensman, 57, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 in her residence.

She was born in Kenton, Ohio, on April 6, 1951, the daughter of Vernal Lee Willeke, who preceded her in death and Marilyn Joan (Wilkerson) Willeke, who survives in Belle Center, Ohio.  Also preceding her in death is her son, Jonathan Adam Bensman, who died October 5, 1987.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Bensman, whom she married on August 14, 1971, in Urbana, Ohio; two sons, Dan J. (Mandy) Bensman and Matt A. (Kaley) Bensman, both of Bellefontaine; one brother, Steve Willeke of Belle Center;  two sisters, Debbie Jo (Dennis) Bensman of Lewistown, Ohio, and Barbara (Phil) Stillings of Urbana; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Sierra, and Deacon Bensman.

She worked for Honda of America since 1985, retiring in July of 2008, from the motorcycle plant.  She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, and belonged to the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved to sew and work with crafts.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, with Father Patrick Sheridan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Universal Home Health Hospice 701 South Main Street Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
