David C. Brugler

David C. Brugler, 82, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009, at his residence. He was born on March 31, 1927, in Big Springs, Ohio, to the late Maurice C. and Clemma Ruth Sadler.

On July 4, 1948, he married Rhea K. Coate in Bellefontaine, and she preceded him in death on May 8, 1990. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Margaret Rogers and Elinore Morhead.

On June 8, 2001, in Bellefontaine, he married Carolyn Sue Huffman Newhart, and she survives along with two sons, Mike (Kathleen) Brugler of Enon, Ohio, and Steven (Krista) Brugler of Springfield, Ohio; a daughter, Jan (Dick) DePalma of Columbus, Ohio; two step daughters, Debra (Stephen) Cherry of Springfield and Pamela (Tim) Evancho of South Charleston, Ohio; six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

A Navy veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War, David worked for New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail railways for 39 years. He owned and operated Dave�s Sunoco on North Main Street in Bellefontaine from 1961 to 1978. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. #132, Bellefontaine Am Vets and the Indian Lake Moose Lodge.

Calling hours are Wednesday, July 1, 2009, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, with Rev. A. W. Purdin officiating.  Burial will follow the service in the Rushsylvania Cemetery, with a Military Service by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
