Delpha Elizabeth Yoder

Delpha Elizabeth Yoder, 89, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008, at Green Hills Center in West Liberty.

She was born in West Liberty on June 11, 1919, a son of the late B. Leonard and Leona Cooper Yoder. On June 6, 1937, she married A. Ray Yoder in West Liberty and he preceded her in death December 26, 2005. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Yoder; and a sister, Wanda L. Buck.

She is survived by her adopted family, Roger and Rachel Kauffman of Bellefontaine, Ohio; her adopted grandchildren, Ryan and Valerie Kauffman and their children, Evan, Neil and Simon, all of Bellefontaine, Rudi and Ravonn Kauffman and their children, Greta and Sophia, all of Bluffton, Ohio, and Ross Kauffman of Columbus, Ohio; her sisters-in-law, Iona Martin of Springfield, Ohio, and Wanda Yount of Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania; and many nieces and nephews.

A 1937 graduate of West Liberty High School, she was a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ in West Liberty, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for the nursery class for 27 years and the young married class for 10 years. She also was a member of the Fortnightly Club, Crusaders Class and the Missionary Society.

Pastor Will Stackhouse conducts the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the United Church of Christ in West Liberty, where calling is one hour prior to the service. Burial follows at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Christ 212 W. Newell St. West Liberty, Ohio 43357; and The Mennonite Central Committee, P.O. Box 500, Akron, Pennslyvania 18501.
