Dwight M. Rogers

Dwight M. Rogers, 83, of Milford Center, Ohio and formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at The Gables at Green Pastures in Marysville, Ohio. He was born September 15, 1927 in Bellefontaine, to the late Kenneth M. and Mary O. (Dytom) Rogers.

On June 30, 1948, he married Leota Marie Rogers in DeGraff, Ohio and she preceded him in death March 7, 1983. On October 1, 1983, he married Lucille (Kleiber) Davis Rogers and she preceded him in death August 31, 2010. Also a daughter in law, Kim Rogers; two sisters, Phyllis Maxine Rogers and Lillian Blanche Rogers; and a grandson, Ryan M. Lane preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons, Charles (Susan) Rogers of Locust Grove, Georgia, William M. (Lisa) Rogers of Harper, Ohio and David Rogers of Bellefontaine; three daughters, Carolyn Rogers of Canada, Rosemary (Theodore) Lane Bidwell of West Liberty, Ohio, and Christine Hendricks of Marysville; a sister, Mary Ethel Kilgore of Columbus, Ohio, and eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

In 1946 Dwight started working for Conrail as a yard master and retired in 1984.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marysville and the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. He traveled with ARVIC to help communities rebuild homes and churches. He enjoyed traveling with the FAN Trailer Club across the United States and Canada. He also enjoyed many years of farming, his John Deere tractors and his love of trains.

Pastor Peter C. Hamilton will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday, May 5, 2011. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
