Earl J. Henson

Earl J. Henson, 73, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on November 15, 1935 in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Earl and Della (Baker) Henson.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Covertstone) Henson; a son Kevin L. Henson; three brothers, Walter, Harold and Gerald Henson, and 1 brother in infancy; five sisters, May Robert, Kathryn Rose, Mary Brown, Bertha Zwiebel and Dorothy Henson.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Guisinger) Henson, whom he married on September 13, 1980, in Marysville, Ohio.  He is also survived by a son, Bryan Henson of Bellefontaine; many loving nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim Knoff, Kenneth & Ian Vermillion and Gaylord & Marilyn Kossel.

Earl was a lineman for Sprint and retired in 1998, after 30 years of service and later was a driver for the Logan County Veterans Services. 

He graduated from Sidney High School in 1953, and was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War.  Earl was a member of the Logan County Honor Guard,  American Legion Post #173; 40 & 8 Club, Elks # 132 and the Eagles # 2166 all of Bellefontaine. He served as Past Commander for the V.F.W. Post # 3316 in Jackson Center, Ohio.

Calling hours are from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Sunday, June 7, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.  Sarah Massie will conduct the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 8, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, and burial will follow at the Milford Center Cemetery with a military service provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard  % Max Harr  240 South Miller St.  West Liberty, Ohio 43357.
