| Elaine Ramona Mathewson Weiss Elaine Ramona Mathewson Weiss, 80, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born on December 23, 1927 in Derby, Colarado, to the late Gene and Hilda Bahl Mathewson. On July 28, 1951, she married Aldine Weiss, Jr. in Kenton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2007. She is also preceded in death by a son, Kris Weiss and two brothers, Albert & Carl Mathewson. She is survived by her sons, Kerry (Beverly) Weiss of Marysville, Ohio, Kirk (Frances) Weiss of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kent (Mildred) Weiss of Strugess, MI, and Kim (Peggy) Weiss of Bellefontaine; daughter, Kathleen (Keith) LeVan of Bellefontaine; sisters, Freda Lay of Celina, Ohio, Josephine (Robert) Miller of St. Henry, Ohio and Mary (Jerry) Steiner of Columbus, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren: John, Jeremy, Amber all of Cincinnati, Matt and Jim of Van Wert, Lacey of West Liberty, Wayne, Landon, Jessica and Brent of Bellefontaine, and Katie and Ashley of Marysville; 12 great grandchildren: Kolen, Kaden, Keaton, Lilly, Jacob, Jarred, Joshua, Ayden, Derek, Aaron, Elaina, and baby Campbell on the way. A homemaker, she worked as the head cook at Fisher's Cheese in Wapakoneta, Ohio, for 6 years. She graduated in 1945 from Dunkirk High School and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. She was also a member of the Shelby County Homemakers for 16 years, St. Ann Society in Botkins and Bradford, Ohio, and a State F.F.A. Honorary Degree member. For 14 years she was a 4-H Advisor in Kenton and Greenville, Ohio. A loving wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, she never had an unkind word for anyone. She raised strawberries all her life and loved nature and singing. Calling hours are Friday, December 5, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, with a Rosary Service at 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, with Rev. Patrick Sheridan and Dean Mathewson officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church 328 E.
