Eldon K. Zimmerman

Eldon K. Zimmerman, 81, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in Belle Center, Ohio. He was born in Auglaize County on December 13, 1926, a son of the late Otto and Bertha W. Rogers Zimmerman.

On March 19, 1950, he married the former Janet A. Reames and she died December 9, 2007. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Stevens.

Survivors include a son, Douglas E. (Libby) Zimmerman of Bellefontaine; a daughter, Beth Ann (Gary) Stevens of Bellefontaine; brother, Donald R. Zimmerman of Roundhead, Ohio; sister, Delores E. Zimmerman of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Heather (David) Karr, Sara (Kyle) Camper, Alysia (Jason) Kuba, Hayley (Blake) Palmer and Matt, Bart and Jeb Morris; and great-grandchildren, Khole, Alex, Hannah, Nate, Ella and Colin.

A 1944 Belle Center High School graduate and U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he owned and operated Zimmerman Realty until his retirement.

He attended the Huntsville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Belle Center American Legion Willis C. Stout Post 266, the Elks, Eastern Star, Masons at all levels of office and the Logan County Fair Board for many years.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, where calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Belle Center Summer Recreation Program and the fireworks fund.
