Eugene E. �Gene� Jackson

Eugene E. �Gene� Jackson, 67, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011. He was born December 31, 1943 in Hendersonville, North Carolina to the late Fred and Ethel (Spicer) Jackson. 

On April 11, 1965, he married Sharyl Stayrook at the Church of the Brethren in Bellefontaine, and she survives along with two sons, Brian (Kay) Jackson and Brad (Christina) Jackson both of Bellefontaine; a daughter, Kimberly (Rob) Hume of Prattville, Alabama; a brother, Carl (Donna) Jackson of Bellefontaine; a sister, Carolyn (Mike) Vanover of Bellefontaine, and five grandchildren, Trinnity, Josh, Noah, Jacob, and Meghan.  A brother, Herman Jackson preceded him in death. 

Gene retired in 2004 from Navistar where he worked in assembly for thirty five years and served as a Union Steward for Local 908. He recently worked for Advance Auto Parts in Bellefontaine. 

An Army Veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post #173 and the Indian Lake Moose Lodge. He was a supporter of local school bowling teams, especially the Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

Rev. A. W. Purdin will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Calling hours will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
