George Herman Meyer

George Herman Meyer, 70, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born on February 20, 1938 in Ft. Jennings, Ohio, to the late Adolph and Regina Wyantt Meyer.  On January 15, 1966, he married the former Rebecca �Becky� Harrison in Bellefontaine and she survives.

He is also survived by sons, Kent (Yun Song) Meyer of Monterey, California, and Troy Meyer of Newark, Ohio; brothers, Al Meyer of Santa Fe, Ohio and Frank (Darlene) Meyer of Irmo, South Carolina; sisters, Ruth Stuber of North Creek, Ohio, Eleanor (Donald) Heitmeyer of Ottawa, Ohio, Dorothy Harpring of Delta, Ohio and Darlene O�Brien of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Drew & Hayden Meyer and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Meyer.

George graduated from Rushsylvania High School in 1957 and served in the US Army.   He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He worked for International Harvester in Springfield, Ohio, as a fork lift operator.

Calling hours are Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine from 9 to 10:30 am.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, with Rev. Patrick Sheridan and Deacon Harold Dipple officiating.  Interment will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
