Gwendolyn B. Southard Rostorfer, 90, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. She was born November 11, 1919, in Logan County Ohio, to the late Forest and Bessie (Hemminger) Watkins.

On November 29, 1937 she married her first husband, Kenneth E. Southard, and he preceded her in death September 29, 1970. On April 12, 1988 she married her second husband, Norman Rostorfer, and he preceded her in death July 18, 1997. Also preceding her in death was a son, Jerry Southard, who was killed in Vietnam November 25, 1969; her siblings, Grant Watkins and Shirley Kimmel.

She is survived by her sons, Roy (Lynn) Southard of New Baltimore, Michigan, Jim Southard of Massillon, Ohio, and Don (Judy) Southard of Bellefontaine; daughters, Sandra (Phil) Cooper of Sarasota, Florida, Eileen (Rex) McColloch of Woodstock, Georgia, and Vickie (Dave) Guisinger of Marysville, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A 1937 graduate of Rushsylvania High School and a homemaker, Gwen was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. She was a very active member of the United Methodist Woman and was a Gold Star mother.

Rev. Max Jackson will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
