Helen M. Chernek Simendinger

Helen M. Chernek Simendinger, 93, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty. She was born in Oak Hill January 10, 1917, a daughter of the late Ottie and Millie Ridge Miller.

Also preceding her in death was her first husband of forty four years, William Chernek, who passed away October 28, 1983, and her second husband, Wilbur Simendinger, who passed away April 7, 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret S. Chernek and her husband Rick Acton of Lexington, South Carolina; a granddaughter, Suzanne and her husband Gene Lafferty of Belle Center, Ohio; and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Madison Lafferty.

She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed gardening and working in her flower garden.

Pastor Cheryl Siegenthaler will conduct the funeral service at 2 P.M. Thursday, June 10, 2010 in the Green Hills Chapel, where visitation is two hours prior to service. Burial will be in the Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio.
