| Jack Eugene Starbuck Jack Eugene Starbuck, 72, of West Liberty, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2009. While on an afternoon trip with his wife, he passed away unexpectedly at the emergency room at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Ohio. He was born in Union Township, West Liberty, on June 1, 1936, the son of Russell and Rowena (Shafer) Starbuck. He is survived by his wife, Carol Farley Markley of West Liberty, whom he married on December 28, 1991, in West Liberty; 2 sons, Christopher (Anne) of West Liberty, Kevin of Denver, Colorado; a daughter, Suzanne of West Liberty; 7 grandchildren, and a stepson, Lowell (Beth) Markley of Bellefontaine. Preceded him to heaven were two brothers, Richard and Raymond Starbuck and his first wife, Mary (Deaton) Starbuck, whom he married on June 9, 1957, in West Liberty, and she passed away on December 25, 1990. He was a lifelong farmer who loved working outside and caring for his cows. He was a 1955 graduate of West Liberty High School and served as a sergeant in the Ohio National Guard for several years. Besides farming, he worked at Roth�s Sales and Service for many years, and was President of Starbuck Pest Control Inc. for fifteen years before retiring in 2008. Jack was very interested in church activities, serving as a deacon of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bellefontaine for many years, and occasionally serving as a guest speaker in area churches. He also enthusiastically supported the cause of biblical creationism. He enjoyed his hobby of building birdhouses. Calling hours are Sunday, May 10, 2009, at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty from 3 to 7 P.M. Rev. Floyd Lundy and Pastor Chuck Temple will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 11, 2009, at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church in Bellefontaine.
