James Robert Goslee III

James Robert Goslee III, 68, of Russells Point, Ohio, died in the company of his loved ones Sunday, July 12, 2009, in The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacquelyn Hogan Goslee; sister, Ann Goslee Healy; and grandson, Jon Jon. He is survived by his siblings, Janette Goslee MacConnell, Lizabeth Goslee DuBois and William Goslee; five children, Lori, James, Jill, Kirk and Jon; grandchildren Slone, Jibe, Sydney, Erin, Josselyn, James, Julia, Guyon and Aurora; wife, Sharon Goslee and stepdaughter, Robin Watson.

Born in Cincinnati to James Robert Goslee II and Elsie Evans Goslee, Jim graduated from The Ohio State College of Law in 1967. He practiced with his father at Goslee & Goslee in Bellefontaine, Ohio from 1967 to 1982. He loved his country, served as company commander of the Delaware Post of the Ohio National Guard, and retired a major from the Ohio National Guard, but his prior designation stuck, and he became known to his friends and family as Captain America.

Jim later became the building inspector for Russells Point, and at the time of his death was the proud owner of Captains Point Restaurant. Jim loved to sing and was an active member of the Logannaires. His other memberships included the Indian Lake Yacht Club and the National Head Injury Foundation. He also gave many years of community service to the Bellefontaine Exchange Club.

An avid sailor, Jim loved sailing with his wife Jackie and anyone who was willing to come aboard. He was a collector of British sports cars, a licensed pilot and was a loyal fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Jims welcoming manner, overwhelming kindness, generous spirit and humorous nature will be sorely missed by the people who knew and loved him. May the wind fill his sails and carry him home again.

Calling hours are from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where the funeral begins at 11 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2009, with the Rev. John B. Ellington Jr. officiating. Burial is in the Bellefontaine Cemetery with military rites by the Logan County Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Logan County and The National Head Injury Foundation.
