Joel Craig Straker

Joel Craig Straker, 50, of Rushsylvania, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at his residence.  He was born on October 9, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to Robert Jay & Beverly K. Williams Straker. He was preceded in death by his father on July 23, 2004.

Surviving is his mother, Beverly, of Rushsylvania; a daughter, Marice Clark of Bellefontaine, Ohio; 2 brothers, Chad (Sue) Straker and Matt (Melissa) Straker both of Rushsylvania; a sister, Heather (Fred) Leezer of East Liberty, Ohio; and 1 grandchild, Tayte Williamson.

A 1977 Benjamin Logan High School graduate, he owned and operated Straker Trucking and sponsored youth baseball and softball in Rushsylvania. Joel enjoyed farming, raising buffalo and flying.

Pastor John James will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening, February 26, 2009, following calling hours from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Burial will be in the Rushsylvania Cemetery at 10:00 am on Friday, February 27, 2009.
