John J. Newman, 63, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at home. He was born in Kenton, Ohio April 12, 1947, to the late Charles Edward and Eva Lou Ellen (Engle) Newman. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Elaine Newman; brothers, Charles Newman Jr. and Tom Newman. 

He retired from Siemens in Bellefontaine, was an Army Veteran after serving during the Vietnam War, and was a life member of the Frank D. Castle V.F.W. Post # 1080 in Bellefontaine. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. 

Survivors include sons, Dwight �DJ� (Jennifer) Newman of Bellefontaine, John (Sara) Newman of Sidney, Ohio, Scott Newman of Texas, and Joseph (Christy) Newman of Huntsville, Ohio; a daughter, Wendy Ann Newman of Texas; seventeen grandchildren; a brother, Robert Newman of Washington state; sisters, Garnie (Ron) Roebuck, Ruthie (Jim Krock) Plikerd, both of Belle Center, Ohio, and Vivian Milisor of Russells Point, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Barbara Newman and Sherril Newman, both of Belle Center; numerous nieces and nephews and former wives, Patty Ann Bechtel and Pamela Jo Stewart. 

The funeral service will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, Ohio, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11 A.M. where calling hours are Monday, March 14, 2011, from 2 to 6 P.M. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center with military rites by the Logan County Honor Guard.
