John P. Fulkerson

John P. Fulkerson, 85, of Huntsville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 16, 2009 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio, with his family by his side. He was born September 22, 1924, at the family farm in Huntsville, to the late Phillip H. and Mary Jane �Jenny� (Harrod) Fulkerson.

On June 12, 1947, he married the former Betty Dipple in Belle Center, Ohio, and she survives along with their three sons, Rick L. Fulkerson of Hutchison, Minnesota, Chris (Kathy) Fulkerson of Huntsville, and Joel (Lula) Fulkerson of Bellefontaine; two grandchildren, Andy (Amanda) Fulkerson of Huntsville, and Nicole (Dave Conkel) Fulkerson of Bellefontaine; three great grandchildren, Ethan, Trenton and Kora Jean Fulkerson; two brothers, Andrew Fulkerson of Belle Center and Charles (Alberta) Fulkerson of Rushsylvania, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara Belle, and Byron Youtsey and Mary and Willard Roby, and sister-in-law, Ruth Fulkerson.

John owned and operated Fulkerson Trucking and Excavating in Huntsville for 59 years.

He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1942 where he was the Logan County Table Tennis Champion multiple times in both junior high and high school. He was a member of the Huntsville Presbyterian Church where he formerly served as trustee, a member of the Huntsville Lions Club and belonged to the Mended Hearts of Bellefontaine. He served two terms as President for the Indian Lake Athletic Boosters.

Pastor Karen Cassedy and Rev. Russell Williams will conduct the funeral service at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009, from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio. Pallbearers include Rick, Chris, Joel and Andy Fulkerson, Tim O�Rielley and Dick Stayrook. Ethan and Trenton Fulkerson will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
