Joseph S. Riley

Joseph S. Riley, 94, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born to the late Edward & Grace (Knick) Riley on December 11, 1914 in Conover, Ohio.

On October 6, 1945, he married Betty Schneider in Urbana, Ohio, and she survives along with 2 sons, Danny (Sue) Riley of North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and Chris (Paula) Riley of Alexandria, Kentucky; 3 daughters, Helen Moody of Urbana, Linda (Keith) Stidham of Cable, Ohio, and Carol (Jim) Huffman of Bellefontaine; and a sister, Dorothy Brown. 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren complete his family.

He is preceded in death by a son, Donald Riley; 1 brother, Edgar L. Riley; and 1 sister, Edna Brown.

A World War II Army veteran, he worked for International Harvester as a millwright, and retired in 1974. He was a member of the Logan County Fish & Game, the V.F.W. Post #1080, American Trap Shooting Association and the U.A.W. Teamster Union.

Pastor Rob Kilgore will conduct the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty, where calling hours are 5 to 8 P.M. on Friday, March 13, 2009. Burial will be in the West Liberty Fairview Cemetery with the American Legion Pearce-Kerns Post #120 of Urbana providing the military service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County Fish and Game  2056 US 68 N.  Bellefontaine, Ohio  43311.
