Larry E. Morgan

Larry E. Morgan, 70, of Russells Point, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008, in The Ohio State Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio, as a result of a September 19 auto accident at the Transportation Research Center in East Liberty, Ohio.

He was born in Dayton on May 2, 1938, a son of Ruth Bailey, who survives in Kettering, Ohio, and the late Robert Morgan. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Mike McGraw. Also surviving are his wife, Diane, whom he married January 19, 1968, in Newport, Kentucky; daughters, Lori (Mike) Hogan and Amy (Zac) Miller, both of Russells Point; brothers, Robert (Connie) Morgan of Russells Point and Earl Lee Morgan and Jimmy Morgan, both of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Barbara (Earl) Smith of Kettering; a brother-in-law, Wayne (Robin) Nicley of Kingman, Arizona; special friends, Matt (Margie) Haines of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Michael, Katelyn, Brian, Tara, Traci, Alan, Andee and Blake; and great-grandchildren, Brooke and Bradley.

A 1957 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School in Kettering, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a hard, hard worker. He was self-employed and formerly owned and operated the Kenton Skate Land skating rink and Morgan�s Landing on Tecumseh Island at Indian Lake.

Previously, he worked for Zimmerman Realty and currently was employed by the Transportation Research Center. He also served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge, Indian Lake Eagles and the United States Trotting Association. He loved horses, boats, fishing and traveling to Florida.

Randy Miller conducts the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. Interment is in the Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. Ohio
