Lawrence L. Mech

Lawrence L. Mech, 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. He was born November 15, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles L. and Mildred L. (Mathias) Mech. 

He was married to Mildred E. McClain and later married Phyllis Kay Stinson October 10, 1969 in Reno, Nevada. She preceded him in death September 13, 2009. 

Surviving are two sons, Paul James (Sharon) Mech of Columbus, Ohio and Erich Stephen (Cindy) Mech of Van Wert, Ohio; a daughter, Janet Sue (David) Geslin of Rushsylvania, Ohio; a step-son, John D. Cummons of Ridgeway, Ohio; step-daughters, Lynn Potter of Lakeview, Ohio and Melody Ann Cummons of New York City, New York; a sister, Shirley Washow of Illinois; fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

He was a manager for Mack Paper Mill in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his Bachelors Degree from Carthage College in Illinois. He enjoyed Sudoku, reading, listening to music and jigsaw puzzles. 

Pastor Jonathan Bull will officiate the funeral service at 1 P.M. Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery following the funeral service in Huntsville, Ohio.
