| Louis Karl Bloom Louis Karl Bloom, 89, of West Liberty, Ohio, and formerly of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at Green Hills Inn in West Liberty, surrounded by his family. He was born December 29, 1920 in Belle Center, Ohio, the youngest son of the late Raymond H. and Helen (Nelson) Bloom. On April 11, 1948 he married Janie Virginia Patton in Belle Center and she preceded him in death June 30, 2006. Surviving are three daughters, Karen (Jim) Faust of Hillsboro, Ohio, Karla Carnes and Kathy (John) Agdinaoay both of Columbus, Ohio; a favorite nephew, Ray (Sharon) Bloom of Versailles, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Wanda Patton of West Liberty; grandchildren, Rhonda (Harold) Brown, Bill (Robin Laird) Carnes; Mark (Jessica) Faust, Todd (Tiffany) Faust, and Chris (Annie Coyle) Carnes; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his brother, James A. Bloom. Karl was a rural mail carrier in Belle Center for thirty five years and was a member and officer of the Rural Letter Carrier Association. He and his brother, Jim, owned and operated Bloom�s Market in Belle Center until 1980. A 1938 Belle Center High School graduate, he was a member of the Belle Center Presbyterian Church serving in a number of leadership positions. He also was a member of the Belle Center Volunteer Fire Department, Willard Stout American Legion Post # 266, NARFE, and Masonic Lodge # 347. Karl enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1941, and spent four years in the South Pacific sailing home under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on Christmas Eve 1945. He served in the Second Air Squadron-Fifth Air Force. He was a founding member of the squadron reunion group formed in 1956 serving as First Vice President until his death. Calling hours are from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 20, 2010.
