Margaret Ellen �Margy� Yoder, 67, of West Liberty, Ohio, started her new life at 4:37 A.M. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio, surrounded by her family. She was born in Vandalia, Ohio December 4, 1943, to the late Paul R. and Ellen Foughty Shaffer. On February 26, 1966 she married James L. Yoder and he survives. 

She is also survived by a daughter; Kendra (Jim) Thurman; and two sons, Eric (Teresa) Yoder and Josh Yoder, all of West Liberty; five grandchildren, Brad (Alicia) Stafford, Christopher Stafford, Zach Yoder, Paul Thurman and Maria Thurman; a sister, Judy (Dan) Flohr of Williamsburg, Ohio; four brothers, Robert (Alice) Shaffer of Bryan, Ohio, Ben Shaffer of Alabama, Richard �Butch� (Frankie) Shaffer of Tennessee and Si (Monika) Shaffer of Lewis Center, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Paul R. �Bud� Shaffer, Jr. and William �Bill� Shaffer, preceded her in death. 

Margy graduated from the Miami Valley School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Mary Rutan Hospital, retiring in October 2009. She was a member of Grace Chapel Church in West Liberty, where she served on the hospitality and floral committees. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grace Chapel Church in West Liberty with Pastor Josh Gelatt officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 to11 A.M. prior to service. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty at a later date.
