Marie Tarasiewicz

Marie Tarasiewicz, 68, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died on May 23, 2009, at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Marie, the daughter of Ella and George Phillips, was born on February 12, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On February 11, 1961, she married Don Tarasiewicz in Grand Rapids and moved to Bellefontaine in August 1969. Don and Marie were married 48 years. 

Marie is survived by her husband Don of Bellefontaine; her son Rick (Deb) Tarasiewicz of Colorado Springs, CO, her daughter Donna (Brent) Cox of Amelia, Ohio and son Scott Tarasiewicz of Bellefontaine, Ohio; ten grandchildren: Bryan, Nick, Spencer, Katie, Abbie, Megan, Emilie, Patrick, Ben and Bryce; her sister Joan Prys and brothers, Lewis and Ken Phillips, all of Michigan. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers Elton and Don Phillips, both of Michigan. 

Marie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, collecting angels, playing cards and board games with her family and friends, attending her grandchildren�s sporting events and school activities, gardening in her flower garden and spending time with her family. 

Marie was an avid bowler and maintained a high average and won a number of local tournament events, a director of the Bellefontaine Women�s Bowling Association and held a variety of positions for many years, and was inducted into the Bellefontaine Bowling Hall of Fame in 2005. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, worked for Farm Credit (1971-2000), a member of the Kings Daughters, the Secretary/Treasurer for the Top of Ohio Road Runners Club, volunteered in the Bellefontaine Elementary Schools Reading program and a volunteer worker for Mary Rutan Hospital. 

Marie�s funeral will be officiated by Father Patrick Sheridan at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Marie will be laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
