Marion W. Rapp, 96, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 in Heartland Care Center of Bellefontaine. He was born May 20, 1915, in Hardin County Ohio, the son of the late Harry B. and Coza (Wilson) Rapp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronn Rapp; a daughter, Lorna Brown; three brothers; Wilbur, Raymond, and Earl Rapp, and a sister, Woneta LeValley.

On March 25, 1936, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, he married the former Mary Wright, and she survives. He is also survived by two sons; Richard (Faith) Rapp of Lima, Ohio and Thomas Rapp of Bellefontaine; a daughter, Cindy (Steve) Dorsey of Urbana, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Rapp of DeGraff, Ohio; a brother, Wellington (Ruth) Rapp of Mt. Victory, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; friends and close friends, Charles Davis of Kenton, Ohio and Kenny Kerns of Belle Center, Ohio.

Marion was a long time member of the Lewistown Trinity United Methodist Church as well as a forty five year charter member of the Rushcreek Sportsman's Club, and a member of the Farm Bureau. He worked as a long time farmer and enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved telling stories of his life to his grandchildren and family.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Rev. Tim Barlow officiating. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 14, 2011, from 4 to 7 P.M., and one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
