Marjorie L. Elliot

Marjorie L. Elliot, 98, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 2:55 P.M. Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Millcrest Nursing Home in Marysville, Ohio. She was born in West Mansfield, Ohio May 30, 1911, to the late Porter and Alice (Grabiel) Elliot. 

Survivors include a sister, Jane Peterson of Worthington, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings; Helen Jameson, Mary Sharpe, Joseph Elliot, John Elliot and Ruth A. Goodrich. 

Marjorie graduated from West Mansfield High School and acquired her extended education at Miami University and The Ohio State University. She was a part of education all of her life. She was a teacher in Columbus, Ohio for several years. Most of her teaching years were spent in La Grange, Illinois. After her retirement, Marjorie returned to Logan County and made her home in Bellefontaine. She was a member of the Bellefontaine United Methodist Church, the Priscilla Circle, the A.A.U.W., the Camera Club, and The Retired Teachers and taught English as a second language. She was an excellent photographer and took many photos while travelling. While teaching in La Grange in 1962, she traveled with the N.E.A. on a trip around the world. She was also a member of the La Grange Civic Orchestra playing the violin. 

A service in memory of Marjorie will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 10, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine with visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association  620 S. Burnett Rd.  Springfield, OH 45505; the HomeReach Hospice  561 W. Central Ave.  Delaware, OH 43015; or the Millcrest Nursing Home  730 Millcrest Dr.  Marysville, OH 43040-1833
