Mary Alice Winter

Mary Alice Winter, 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 04, 2010 at Heartland of Bellefontaine. She was born January 25, 1932 in Raymond, Ohio, to the late Jay and Laura (Husted) Mullaney.

On June 28, 1951 she married Willard �Til� Vane Winter in Raymond, and he preceded her in death July 23, 2009. 

Surviving are her children, Anthony V. Winter of Lima, Ohio, Christopher �Chris� (Sandy) Winter, Shelley (Rick) Nease, both of Bellefontaine, and Patricia (Daryl) Boyd of Galena, Ohio; a brother, Fahy (Mary Ann) Mullaney of Charlottesville, Virginia; sisters, Jean (Joe) Detwiler of Marysville, Ohio, and Leslie (Stuart) Singley of Urbana, Ohio; her grandchildren, R. Matthew Nease, Kristen Yoder, Aaron Nease, Andrew Boyd, Natalia Chase, Colin Boyd, Anthony W. Winter, Shannon Winter, Brad Winter and Brandon Winter; and ten great grandchildren.

Mary Alice taught thirty years at the Marysville City Schools. She graduated from Raymond High School, received her Bachelor�s degree from The Ohio State University and her Master�s from Wright State University. 

A member of the Zanesfield United Methodist Church, she served as the Treasurer, was a Lay person and taught Sunday school and was a Bible School teacher. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Professional Sorority, the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild where she served as President, the Worthwhile Club, was a 4-H Advisor and served on the Sloan Library Board in Zanesfield. She was also a member of the Ohio Reads Volunteer and was a volunteer reading tutor for Bellefontaine City and Benjamin Logan Schools. An avid reader, she also loved to quilt and travel.

Rev. Bonnie Frost will conduct a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Zanesfield United Methodist Church, where friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. 

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Zanesfield United Methodist Church  2880 Main St. Zanesfield, OH 43360 or the charity of donor�s choice.
