Mary C. Patrick

Mary C. Patrick, 91, of Rushsylvania, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born on December 10, 1917, in Rushsylvania to the late Frank R. and Edna E. Hommel Roberts.

On June 5, 1935, she married Ansley C. Patrick in Rushsylvania and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1995.    She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Mitchell on February 3, 1996, son-in-law, Richard Larson, and her sisters, Mildred Wagaman, Grace Stevens and Selma Weisent.

She is survived by daughters, Jo Ann (Dan) Mitchell, and Rebecca Larson both of Rushsylvania; grandchildren, Karen (Curt) Dill, Kathy (Bob) Stierhoff, Rosemary (Mike) Overturf, Kay (Eric) Dudgeon, Jim (Sherry) Larson, and Susan Mitchell; thirteen great-grandchildren, one great grandchild-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a member of the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church where she served as an organist for 30 years, treasurer for 18 years, Sunday school teacher, member of the United Methodist Women and was well known for her many fannelgraph stories for the children of the community. She was a 1935 graduate of the Rushsylvania High School, past clerk-treasurer for the Village of Rushsylvania where she served for 21 years, a retired bus driver for the Rushsylvania, Buckeye Local, and Benjamin Logan School districts, and a retired member of the Rushcreek Volunteer Emergency Squad where she served for 15 years. She was a member of the Rushcreek Music Club, Rushsylvania Friendly Garden Club, and the Friendly Senior Center in Bellefontaine. Mary also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting and refinishing furniture.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and delighted in participating in activities with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who know and loved her.

Reverends Bonnie Frost and Lloyd Ferguson will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Rushsylvania, where calling hours are from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Thursday, April 16, 2009. Burial will be in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
