Palmeria �Rose� Smith
Palmeria �Rose� Smith, 92, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Heartland of Bellefontaine. She was born September 20, 1918, in Lima, Ohio to the late Homer and Bessie (Short) Parmer. On July 26, 1935, she married Lester Pearl Smith in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death March 27, 1987. Also preceding her in death was a son, Stanley L. Smith; daughters, Joyce Howell and Sally Shields; a brother, Bud Parmer; sisters, Veronica Roof and Irene Robinough; a grandson, Alan Howell, and a great granddaughter, Samantha Jo Howell. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Gribler of Springfield, Ohio, and Joan Berry of Bellefontaine; seventeen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. A homemaker, Rose attended the First Friends Church in Bellefontaine. She loved having company, and also loved to paint, crochet and write poetry. Pastor Ron Irick will officiate the funeral service at 1 P.M. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours will be from 6 to 8 P.M.
