Patricia Anne Montgomery Thompson

Patricia Anne Montgomery Thompson, 80, of West Liberty, Ohio, went to be with her Lord God Friday, November 20, 2009 in the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty. She was born April 23, 1929, in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Rice) Montgomery.

She married Fred Antrim Thompson on March 1, 1952, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Ann Horn and a grandson, Matthew Horn.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Jonathan) Mathys and grandson Luke Mathys; granddaughter Jill (Chad) Horn Carey and great-grandchildren Ashtyn and Josh, all of Bellefontaine, along with Dean, Mary Jean, and Kristyn Horn and sister in law Alice Berry, three nieces and two nephews.

She was a 76 year member of the Community Chapel in Zanesfield, where she and Fred were married. She was a 1948 graduate of Zanesfield High School. She was also a 59 year member of the Zanesfield Worthwhile Club.

She loved helping and doing for others by a visitation ministry at the Green Hills Retirement Community and Nursing Care Center. Before her retirement, she enjoyed baking and giving her cookies and pies to others. During her brief cancer illness, she grew close to and had concern for her caretakers at Green Hills, her roommates, and the housekeeping staff.

Primarily a homemaker, she worked as a custodian and retired from the Ohio Hi Point Career Center and enjoyed cleaning her church for many years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Community Chapel in Zanesfield at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 5, 2009, with Pastor Keith Matthews officiating. Friends may visit and fellowship one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 3 to 4. There will be a meal provided after the service.

At Pats request, her body was cremated and her remains will be buried in Zanesfield Cemetery. The staff at the  Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Zanesfield Community Chapel  4754 County Road 10  Zanesfield, Ohio 43360 or the Green Hills Activity Supplies Fund  6557 U.S. 68 South  West Liberty, Ohio 43357
