Ray P. Allen

Ray P. Allen, 84, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his residence. He was born August 12, 1926 in Bellefontaine, to the late Joseph P. Allen and Treasie Eva (Rinehart) Allen Alloway.

On August 12, 1950 he married Glendora Bell in Bellefontaine and she survives along with their children, James R.  Allen and Barbara R. (Larry) Dotson of Bellefontaine; a sister, Laura J. Conley of Bellefontaine; a brother, Earl (Pansy) Allen of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jaime Price, Candice (David) Kirkpatrick, Jonathan R. Allen, Heather Dotson and Ashley Dotson; step grandchildren, Mark Dotson of Pataskala, Ohio and Ben Dotson of Orting, Washington; ten great grandchildren; and a special family friend, Drema (Don) Scott of Howard, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe E. Allen.

Ray was an engineer for Conrail and retired in 1983. An Army Veteran serving during World War II in the Southern Philippines, he was a member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine, Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge # 209, Scottish Rite-Valley of Cleveland, the Logan County Senior Center and a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 1080.

Pastors A.W. Purdin and Gene Marine will conduct the 10:00 A.M. funeral service Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, April 11, 2011, with a Masonic Service at 7:45 P.M. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Cemetery In West Liberty, Ohio, with Military Services by the Logan County Honor Guard.
