Rita Louise Riedmiller

Rita Louise Riedmiller, 49, passed away Saturday morning, December 19, 2009, at her home in Rushsylvania, Ohio. She was born in Kenton on April 12, 1960, a daughter of the late Leonard and Annabelle Sloan Roberts. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Russell �Happ� Roberts.

She is survived by longtime companion, Chuck Metherd of Rushsylvania; two sons, Michael (Jill) Riedmiller of Marysville, Ohio, and Benjamin (fianc�e Rashelle Kays) Riedmiller of Akron, Ohio; a daughter, Megan (Cole) Carpenter of Rushsylvania; grandson, Ethan Carpenter; brother, Richard Jay (Sharon) Roberts of Dublin, Ohio; sister, Rae Jean (Joe) Spatz of Bellefontaine, Ohio; sister-in-law, Marilyn Roberts of Rushsylvania; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was expecting a new grandson, Gavin Riedmiller.

She had worked since 1982 at Mary Rutan Hospital as a registered nurse, most recently in the cardiology department. She had a great passion for nursing and her patients. She enjoyed gardening and home improvement projects.

She graduated from Benjamin Logan High School in 1978, and received her bachelor of science degree nursing from Bowling Green State University. She was an occasional speaker at the Mended Hearts Support Group, and in 2008 she received the Cameo of Caring Excellence Award.

She enjoyed traveling with Chuck, snowmobiling and watching her nieces and nephews play sports. She loved  spending time with her children and her grandson.

The Rev. Lynn Cleaveland will officiate the memorial service at 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Rushsylvania Church of Christ. Burial is in the Rushsylvania Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M.. Tuesday, December, 22, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
