Roberta E. Highland

Roberta E. Highland, 86, of Lakeview, Ohio, and a longtime resident of Bellefontaine, Ohio, died Saturday, September 13, 2008, in Wapakoneta Manor, Wapakoneta, Ohio.

She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on August 1, 1922, a daughter of the late Cecil and Elva Schlabach Maggart. On June 8, 1947, she married K. Norell Highland I in Ft. Wayne and he died July 19, 2001. She also was preceded in death by two brothers.

Survivors include a son, K. Norell (Julia Parisi) Highland II of Long Island, New York; daughters, L. Denise (Gerald Takasaki) Highland of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and E. Charnell (William P.) Marker of Ft. Wayne; six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

A 1940 graduate of Southside High School in Ft. Wayne, she was a receptionist for her husband, Dr. Norell Highland, in his dentist office in Bellefontaine.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine, where she was active in the Friendship Circle, and was a longtime member of the King�s Daughters.

Pastor Jonathan Bull will conduct a joint burial of Dr. and Mrs. Highland at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008, in the Huntsville, Ohio Cemetery, with the Logan County Honor Guard leading military rites for Mr. Highland, who served in the U.S. Army.

Calling hours are from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, prior to the burial, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where condolences may be expressed at eichholtz@embarqmail.com
