Ruth Evelyn Tanger

Ruth Evelyn Tanger, 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born in Logan County in Liberty Township, on July 24, 1922, to the late Chester William and Gertrude Belle (Rotroff) Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion L. Tanger; a son, Robert Tanger; brothers, Richard and Ralph Cooper; and sisters, Juanita Detrick and Jane Stevenson.

Surviving are her sons, Russell (Bobi) Tanger of Glendale, Arizona, and Rick Tanger of Hoisington, Kansas; a daughter, Janet (James) Donnelly of Bellefontaine; sisters Margaret Jones of Port Clinton, Ohio, Shirley Yoder of Goshen, Indiana, and Caroline Neer of Bellefontaine; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends at Bob Evans.

After thirty one years of service, Ruth retired from GMS in 2000. She was an active member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine, and enjoyed working in her home and garden, and walking the track at Blue Jacket Park.

Calling hours are Friday, July 17, 2009, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Pastor�s C.J. Plogger and Ray Headings will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with one hour of visitation prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God  1000 E. Brown Ave.  Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311 or to the American Cancer Society  Attn: Relay for Life of Logan County  2808 Reading Road  Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
