Virginia Lee Wise

Virginia Lee Wise, 95, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born on August 4, 1913 in Varna, Illinois, to the late Young Glenn & Nina Lee (Scarborough) Broaddus.

On May 11, 1935, in Lewistown, Ohio, she married Hadyn F. Wise, who presently resides at the Green Hills Retirement Community in West Liberty, Ohio. They would have been married 74 years. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Carol Pennington of Augusta, Georgia, and Susan Holsey of Bellefontaine, along with 2 grandsons, Kenneth (Carol) Shroyer of Talkeetna, Arkansas, and Hadyn (Heather) Shroyer of St. Mary�s, Ohio; 7 great grandchildren, Jennifer, Bryan, Faith, Will and Nicholas Shroyer and Allison and Sydney Rockwood; a sister-in-law, Margaret Broaddus of Delphos, Ohio; a very special niece, Letty Powers of Huntsville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Edwin R. & William E. Broaddus are deceased.

A 1930 graduate of Lakeview High School, she retired from the J. C. Penney Co. where she was a sales associate.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine since 1940. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women�s Group, the Harrison Grange and a 4-H leader.

Rev. Ed Beale will conduct the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Calling hours are scheduled from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice.
