Wendell Lee Jenkins, 55, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio. He was born March 13, 1954 in Springfield, Ohio, to the late John L. Jr. and Annetta (Wagner) Jenkins.

He married Patricia Elliott in Springfield, Ohio, and she survives along with sons, Jamie, Wendell Patrick and Lance Jenkins all of Bellefontaine, and Josh Elliott of Springfield, Ohio; daughters, Sarah Jenkins of Bellefontaine and Jessica Jenkins of Quincy, Ohio; brothers; Edward (Susan), Kevin (Jenny), James (Peggy), Ward and Rex Jenkins all of Springfield, and David (Louise) Jenkins of Lubbock, Texas; sisters, Anita Jenkins, Daphne (Richard) Turner and Robyn Jenkins all of Springfield, India (Gene) Adams of Georgia, and Gail (Lenard) Sandoval of Colorado; six grandchildren and three more expected. A brother, Jay L. Jenkins, and a sister, Tracey Lynn Jenkins, preceded him in death.

Wendell worked as a supervisor, taking care of rest areas along the Ohio highways. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching football, and music, but he loved spending time with his grandchildren the best.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating. Calling hours will be two hours prior to the service starting at 12:00 P.M.
