Wilma L. Dodson

Wilma L. Dodson, 80, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 1:15 P.M. Monday, June 7, 2010 at the Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty, Ohio following a year long battle with cancer. She was born March 11, 1930 in Bellefontaine to the late Donavan and Gladys Williams Short. On June 19, 1948, she married Dan L. Dodson and he preceded her in death on June 5, 1983. She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas M. Dodson; a granddaughter; and three sisters, Maxine Dubbs, Ella Mae Armstrong and Pauline Swiger. 

Survivors include a son, Dan S. (Debbie) Dodson of Allen, Texas; four daughters, Dona (Jerry) Vida of East Liberty, Ohio, Beth (Michael) Roth of Greenville, Wisconsin, Rebecca (Christian) Drothlar of Greenville, South Carolina, and Amy (Steve) Eppell of Cleveland, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Kress) Barton of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews. 

A member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bellefontaine, Wilma loved gardening, playing bridge as well as playing and watching golf. 

Rev. Tim West will conduct the funeral service Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. The family will receive friends on Thursday two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Bellefontaine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ben Logan Middle School Builders Club for a memorial garden or to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care. The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
